Christina and Daniel will never be parents.....

Our cats were spayed and neutered today, in keeping with popular vote(mainly me) that we do not wish to care for any more pets. Charlie was great and planned to take the cats to meet their doom at Petco in Duluth at 7:30am. Dan went willingly because he is retarded and trusts everyone, although it was difficult to pack his dead weight into the carrier. Christina was a different story. She was untrusting and tried to paw her way out. I picked them up at 3pm after surgery and they were total bobble heads after coming down off the anesthesia. We had to set them up in separate rooms for the next week so they won't hurt each other's incision area. We had to buy special dust free litter so that their incisions won't get infected. We had to give them a little food at a time so they wouldn't barf. I am now become the cat nurse. They have adjusted OK on this first day despite the snippety snip of their nether regions. But the funniest thing is Daniel....in addition to being high as a kite from the shot they gave him for pain, he is super loving and rubs himself all over you. This is very uncharacteristic of Dan. He usually sulks in a corner and doesn't seek any human contact. I am sure it will be a different story tomorrow when the pain meds wear off! I just pray to God that they won't lick the wounds, because we will be forced to put cones on their heads, and that would be awful!
