To make a long story short, I went and bought the furminator, and used it on our cats. This is the fur that was removed. The cat groomer at Petco suggested using it very gently, and pointed out that long haired cats will still shed, but the furminator ought to improved things. She also said that the cats need to be brushed daily with a cat brush as well. So, after very gently raking this tool over my cats, they still shed of course. I have to "de-fur" the house(vaccuum, ect.)in order to compare the difference. I also think that I wasn't aggressive enough with the tool. I should have taken a picture of the real spectacle, which was my pants. More fur stuck to my pants, than what you see here in this picture. Would I recommend the Furminator? Probably, but I don't think this little tool is worth the thirty five dollar price tag!

they will always shed no matter how much you brush, welcome to the world of long haired cats...
I went and bought the Furminator on the advice of my sister who has a Ragdoll very long-haired cat and she raved over it. i found it to work very well on our Russian blue-not as long haired of a cat. I have a paper towel at the ready to scoop the hair into. First time I actually put it all into a gallon zip lock I got so much off of her. For her, it really helped her dander and shedding. Expensive tool though! Hello to all the Sellers clan. i have been peeking in to all the blogs as I can and not posting much there. Busy with work and wedding planning and knitting!
so I didn't know it was THAT expensive! I thought they were like $20?? Well, just keep using it, you're not gonna get a miracle in just one use!! What I need is a giant-sized one for Louie, our lab-retriever who sheds everywhere he goes!! He has a mountain of fur and I"m pretty sure it is waterproof too...it takes a good 10 minutes to JUST get him wet with a hose!!!!!!
Every day????? Seriously??? So when are you supposed to brush those cats? In between brushing your teeth & shooing the kids out the door? Or throwing dishes in the dishwasher & going to the grocery store? So on & so forth.....
