Calysta's birthday party

This was by far the simplest birthday party I have ever thrown for one of my children. Only the best friends were invited and it was easy! This was a big birthday for Calysta to be "double digits" now that she has turned ten years old. Seems like yesterday I had my baby, and now my baby is a decade old!(sniff, sniff) Since we don't participate in sleepovers yet, we had a half sleepover. Calysta's friends arrived with pajamas and sleeping bags and watched the American girl movie, "Chrissy" after eating pizza, brownie cake, and ice cream. Then at 9pm, they all went home!

Is there another american girl movie? Cuz the one Abby has is 'Kit'.
Her party looks so fun, and her face is priceless in that last picture! I've wondered before when I'd let Abby have a sleep over at someone elses house (other than family of course) and I can't ever seem to think that I'll ever feel comfortable with her sleeping over somewhere until she's atleast 13 or 14!

Yeah, this half sleepover was a compromise: But the girls were so wound up they kept pausing the movie to run around! They had fun though..
"Chrissy" is the American Girl movie that is on video and wasn't in theatres. It's about a modern day girl who get bullied by a girl in school. It's pretty good...

the pictures are so cute, and yes, I agree with Bethny, her face in the last picture is priceless!! what was it she got??

take it from me when it comes to sleepovers...only do it if you are SECURELY COMFORTABLE with the family with whom they are spending the night! I would lvoe to have sleepovers at OUR house bc then I am in control of the situation and know what's going on, but I really would have to weigh carefully at whose house Bradley could sleep over. Only one friend comes to mind, very trustworthy Christian family who has the same values and responsibilities as us. I don't mind sleepovers at this age, it just depends on who it is.
